I don’t generally talk about my monthly beauty favourites, the idea has always been floating around in my head but I simply don’t use enough of a wide variety of products to warrant talking about something new every few weeks.
I admit I do own a fair amount of makeup but when I love something chances are I’ll use it to the last drop. So I’m going to think of this post as an occasional monthly favourites – some months I may have lots to talk about, other months I may not.
This month however there are some amazing products that I feel are worth the share.
Morphe 35O Palette
This baby has been calling my name since it’s release. So much hype has been built around this palette that it sold out within an instant and buying it online has been a challenge. Makeup.co.nz recently restocked this bad boy so I definitely had to take advantage and order one for myself.
Featuring 35 beautiful and oh so pigmented matte and shimmer shades you could see how it could become so popular. This palette is perfect for anytime of the year. I have yet to include this in a video but one is on the way!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadows
I’m a bit speechless when it comes to these shadows – I’ve always been a fan of Anastasia and use her brow products on a daily, however I never tried her eyeshadows and boy do I regret not trying them sooner. Apart from the fact there’s every shade, every finish, and every pigment available it’s great to be able to customise a palette to your liking.
There is no lack of imagination or pigmentation whatsoever, you can tell each colour has been modified specifically to be the best it can be. These babies are well worth a try!
Zoeva Eye Brushes
When it comes to applying makeup I strongly believe that your brushes contribute around 60% of the work. If you have good brushes, applying makeup will be easier and pain free! I have always thought I had a semi decent set and have never struggled with the application of makeup through my brushes. Zoeva recently got in contact with me and asked if I’d like to try their brush sets, I was blown away by how easier my eye makeup was to achieve.
I’m not much of a fan of cut creases because I feel they take so much time but I have been wearing a cut crease most days in the last few weeks and it is done without a struggle.
Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick
Liquid lips are a huge hit right now. Providing great pigmentation and hours of longevity you can see why. Too Faced recently launched their range of liquid lippies and I am beyond in love. I of course had to pick up a nude/pinky shade (you guys know me!) and found it to be super comfortable and not shy of pigment at all. With all liquid lipsticks you need to be careful when eating as I find the lipstick comes off in clumps which can be quite annoying but the pros definitely make up for the cons.
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer
So if you watch my videos you know I love to bathe myself in highlighter – I’m not shy with this baby whatsoever. In fact, sometimes I’m a bit too heavy handed with it but hey what’s wrong with having highlighter brighter then the sun?! All jokes aside, the Mary Lou Manizer is one highlighter that has stuck with me throughout the years. It provides a beautiful champagne glow to the skin and I think it is perfect for ANY skin type. I love to apply this with a fan brush to my cheek bones, cupids bows and nose area.
Revlon Lash Potion Mascara
On a day to day basis I like to put my fake lashes to the side and leave the house with only a few generous coats of mascara. The Revlon Lash Potion Mascara has been an absolute go to of mine recently. I did use this baby a few years back but when it got empty I never bothered replacing it. Now however I feel like I don’t get the effect of full and luxurious lashes unless I coat my lashes up with this particular mascara. I don’t know whether it’s my brain playing tricks on me or if my lashes have lengthened slightly (I’m hoping it’s the latter) but I’ve noticed an improvement in my lashes for sure.
The wand is pretty thick so I like to open my eyes super wide to cover the root of my lashes and then I gently swipe the wang along the rest of my lashes for length.
