When it comes to foundations, I love a good coverage! If I don't need to go in with concealer over top, you have me!! I will always opt for a medium to full coverage where I can. It's more out of habit than anything - I don't often have much to cover in terms of blemishes but if I'm going to rock a full face of makeup, it's going to be heavy.
I found my holy grail foundation a few years ago so it's a struggle to replace it but I think that may be happening...
When I'm trying out new foundations I look for a few things:
- The coverage
- The longevity
- The brand/price point
The Anastasia Luminous Foundation has been making it's way around the beauty world. Anastasia Beverly Hills is definitely one of the go to brands, so to see them release a foundation. Well, that got me buzzing.
I was lucky enough to receive a few press samples and I have of course put them to the test.
What the foundation claims: "Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous Foundation is a water-resistant liquid foundation that creates a luminous, natural finish. The radiant formula delivers long-wearing, medium coverage yet still feels weightless and looks ultra-fresh" - https://www.anastasiabeverlyhills.com/luminous-foundation/luminous-foundation.html
Hearing the words 'natural finish', I assumed it would be a light coverage but boy, was I proved wrong.
I would say this is more of a full coverage which I love!! You don't need to go in with a lot either. One layer will cover most blemishes up (at least this was the case for me), two layers will act as a concealer and before you know it, you have a flawless base.
You can leave it as is, if you're wanting a dewy finish to your skin, or if you're more of a matte gal - setting it with powder is always an option.
Regardless of what finish I'm after, I will always set my under eye area and eyelids in place to avoid any creasing throughout the day.
Let's talk about the longevity...
There's no information explaining how long this foundation can last for, and I haven't put it to the extreme test just yet. I; however, have had it in place for 6 hours without touch ups and it still looks like I just applied it. So far so good!
Applying a primer before hand will also help the longevity of any foundation, so if you do suffer with oily skin, you may want to try this out.
Price point: This bad boy retails for 38 USD. Compared to other high end brands, I actually think this foundation is on the cheaper end of the spectrum. For the coverage, the finish, and the shade range (50 shades), I'm struggling to see any negatives.
99% of the time I will buff a foundation in with my Beauty Blender, I find this works best for me as it doesn't eat away at the product.
So is this foundation worth it? My opinion, definitely!! The image seen here has not been edited/manipulated/touched up in any way.
